If you can't beat a resolution, write your own

Abi Clowes

14 Jan 2010

Until this year I had never noticed the amount of trends and resolutions produced by companies on topics from email marketing (yes some shameless self promotion, I am in marketing) to the comeback of the shoulder pads (ladies unless you're doing a remake of Dynasty this is a travesty).

Perhaps it's the rise of social media that is throwing all this insight into my path or the fact that these days everyone is happier to write their thoughts and opinions without the need for being a professor or member of a very important association. We are all experts in our own right and want help and advise our fellow professionals (fashion victims) in 140 characters plus.

I could reinvent the wheel again and jot down my own observations from 2009 but to be honest I'd only be repeating what many have done before me. So instead I've picked out my favourites so far for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy.

Social media lessons of 2009 that need re-wiring from Content & Motion

Are there still digital channels or is it just plain - well - digital? from Econsultancy

Another makeover this time for email marketing from Jeannie Mullen

An 'Email insider's' motivation for 2010 from Email Insider ironically

And an Email Marketer's perspective on 2010 trends from Clickz

Finally a cheeky promotion of their product as thinly veiled resolutions from marketingprofs ;  )

If you've discovered some gems of your own that are worth sharing then either message me @absterc or leave them as comments below.

All the best,

Abi
